Movie Theater Review - Into the Wild - 3.5 stars

solid adaptation of jon krakauer's fabulous book, about christopher mccandless who leaves his upper class existence to take on the life of a wandering tramp.

accurately depicts conflict between society and man's absolute freedom, and also the cold power of nature when man is not prepared.

solid role for emile hirsch, good direction from sean penn. nice supporting work from catherine keener and hal holbrook. kind of a nothing role for vince vaughn.

enjoyed the two foreign characters mccandless meets in the grand canyon.
